Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 April 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Start Using AI handles personal information when you use this website, buy an AI Opportunity Assessment, complete an intake, or contact us.

Who we are

Start Using AI provides AI Opportunity Assessments for UK estate and lettings agencies. For privacy questions, contact michael@builtbymichael.com.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, such as your name, email address, agency name, role, contact details, enquiry details, assessment responses, and any messages you send.

If you buy an assessment, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive payment status and transaction references, but we do not store your full card details.

We also collect basic website and analytics information, such as pages visited, approximate location, browser/device information, referral source, and interactions with the site. We use Google Analytics to help understand site performance and improve the service.

How we use your information

We use personal information to provide assessments, process orders, respond to enquiries, deliver reports, manage customer relationships, improve the website, maintain security, and keep reasonable business records.

We may also use your information to send service-related updates or follow up on an enquiry. We will only send marketing emails where we have a lawful basis to do so, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Lawful bases

We rely on contract where processing is needed to provide an assessment or service you have requested.

We rely on legitimate interests for running and improving the website, responding to business enquiries, preventing misuse, and keeping appropriate business records.

We rely on legal obligation where we need to keep records for tax, accounting, compliance, or other legal reasons.

Where consent is required, such as for certain optional marketing or non-essential cookies, we rely on consent and you can withdraw it at any time.

Who we share information with

We use trusted service providers to operate the site and deliver the service. These may include website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, forms, automation, database, and productivity providers.

We only share information where needed for the purposes described in this policy, where required by law, or where you ask us to share it.

International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we aim to use providers that apply appropriate safeguards, such as UK-approved transfer mechanisms or equivalent protections.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Assessment and enquiry records are usually kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction unless a longer period is needed for legal, accounting, dispute, or service reasons.

Financial and transaction records may be kept for up to 6 years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in the relevant analytics tools.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or request transfer of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.

To exercise your rights, email michael@builtbymichael.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies and similar technologies where needed to run the website, process payments, understand site usage, and improve the service.

Google Analytics helps us understand aggregated visitor behaviour. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and Google provides tools and settings for managing analytics preferences.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
